Not everything begins with a finished painting.

Sometimes it starts with an old sketch rediscovered after many years. Sometimes with a fragment of colour that suddenly demands to be developed further. At other times, it is a painting returning from an exhibition, inviting me to see it with fresh eyes.

This section is a record of such moments.

Here you will find stages in the creation of paintings, photographs from my studio, returns to older works, and traces of my everyday creative journey.

It is neither a chronicle nor a guide.

Rather, it is a collection of notes left along the way.

Some paintings begin here long before they find their place on a wall.

Butterfly Effect – Completion of the Painting
There are paintings that seem to know from the very beginning what they want to become.

And there are those that keep their intentions hidden for a long time.

This one belonged to the latter group.

Looking at this stage today, I can already see the direction it was taking, yet there were still more questions than answers.

I like moments like that.

Nothing is decided yet, and still the painting begins to establish its own rules.

Sometimes all it takes is a trace of colour, a single gesture, a single decision.

The rest comes later.

And this “Butterfly” has already found its own wall — the place where it decided to come to rest.
