Between Art and Craft

About Gucio Shoes
Gucio shoes were created in 1997 out of the need to make footwear that is simple, comfortable, and crafted with genuine care for a child’s feet.

From the very beginning, I designed them myself — from the lasts and construction to every detail of the handmade production process.

Many of the machines and tools used in my studio were also designed and built by me personally.

I am a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and Ars Sutoria in Milan — one of the most renowned footwear design schools in Italy.

Over the years, Gucio shoes have been worn by children both in Poland and abroad.

Today, they are still handmade in my studio near Kraków, produced on a small scale, with the care and calm that are becoming increasingly rare in the modern world.

I do not create mass production.

Every pair passes through my own hands.

Over time, Gucio has become for many people something more than children’s footwear — today the shoes often return as gifts for grandchildren and as a reminder of the quality and craftsmanship of earlier times.

Alongside the shoes, paintings are also created in my studio.

It is a place where art and craftsmanship have naturally intertwined for many years.
